FOOD ASSISTANCE FIGHTING HUNGER AND FEEDING HOPE

Second Harvest collaborates with over 90 non-profit agencies to serve individuals in need across San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties. To support its partners, Second Harvest offers an online shopping process that allows agencies to select a variety of food items, such as meats, cheese, yogurt, canned goods, and fresh vegetables and fruits, for redistribution. Agencies

schedule appointments to pick up their orders from the Second Harvest distribution center in Manteca, where they can choose the types and quantities of food that best meet their neighbor’s needs. Once collected, these agencies distribute the food items through their local food pantries, directly serving their surrounding communities. A key strength of our Food Bank lies in its ability to collect large-scale donations from retail stores and distribution centers. These donations are then centrally stored and managed, allowing for efficient redistribution through our network. This centralized approach ensures that more individuals have access to food locally through the pantries, maximizing the reach and impact of our efforts.
