Emergency Food Assistance Program
FOOD ASSISTANCE FIGHTING HUNGER AND FEEDING HOPE
(Food Pantry Agencies in California)
SHGV serves people in need by collaborating with over 95 non-profit agencies serving San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties. The agencies visit the food bank as often as once per week to pick up groceries: canned goods, grains, dairy products, meats, fresh fruits, and vegetables. The agencies then distribute the food through their food pantries to individuals in need. The strength of our distribution process is the ability to pick up large-scale donations from retail stores and distribution centers. Through the food bank, more individuals have local access to the food pantries by centralizing the collection, storage, and distribution of products.
EMERGENCY FOOD DONATIONS
With the demand of emergency food assistance on the rise, the demand for resources, donations, and volunteers has increased as well. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for local agencies to have the healthy food that many of our neighbors may need. To meet this demand we have increased the amount of emergency food assistance programs and partners we provide. We will continue to expand our reach and do what it takes to help anyone that is in need of emergency food assistance.
